What Do I Need In Order to Travel to Kenya?
To travel to Kenya, you generally need the following:
1. Passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your date of entry.
Must have at least one blank page for stamps.
2. Visa
Most travelers need an electronic visa (eVisa), which you can apply for on the Kenya eVisa portal.
Some countries are visa-exempt, but must still register on the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) portal.
As of 2024, Kenya replaced traditional visas with the eTA system for many travelers.
3. Return or onward ticket
Proof that you’ll be leaving Kenya at the end of your stay.
4. Accommodation details
A hotel booking or address of where you’ll be staying.
5. Vaccination
Yellow fever vaccine is required if you’re coming from a country with risk of yellow fever.
COVID-19 vaccine or PCR test is no longer required, but it's good to check latest updates before you fly.
6. Travel Insurance (recommended)
Covers medical emergencies, cancellations, and theft.
